This photographer’s reality took a reverse role recently! ON QUE boutique in Corona Del Mar, asked me to do the photography for a session for their upcoming Danish reality series at the beach. A session of family portraits with an artistic flair on a VERY windy day that is. Kirsten is an artist herself, a wonderful painter, so it was such an honor that she asked me to capture her images! Here was the catch, I was mic’ed the whole time and being filmed while I shot!!! No pressure, right?? A beautiful family, fabulous shoes and gorgeous clothes…. yep, I’m in! Even the camera men were handsome! You should have seen those guys when I kept dropping down in the sand to get artistic angles, at first they were perplexed, but then joined me down in the sand and surf!! Kirsten, always the dedicated fashionista, even saved both of her daughters shoes from the ravaging effects of the surf and sand by devising little rock platforms for them to stand on. Now that’s reality, Mom!! It was such a fun shoot!! Thanks ON QUE!!

Recently I have had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with the wonderful folks at Muttropolis, a super cool shopping utopia for hip and unique products for dogs,cats and their lucky owners. With 3 southern California locations and a fantastic online store, I was so….oooo honored when they approached me to work on some projects together!!!!! Project 1, some images highlighting the wonderful wet noses and tongues of out faithful friends. Hence… the many tongues! Wow, that peanut butter was sticky!! Now, I must tell you, to say that I am pet craaa…azzzzzzy would be a gross understatement. From the time I was two and insisted on giving my pet ducks baths IN the bathtub, to my 1st pony at three, to my adventures in keeping my potbelly pig hidden from management while living on the 32nd floor of a high-rise in Chicago, pets have been not just a part of my life they ARE MY life. Animals have always fed my soul and whenever I get the camera out to photograph them, something magical happens. Pets are not camera shy, they don’t think they are ten pounds over weight or having a bad hair -doo day. They are not worried about the economy or reality shows, they just ARE. True, soulful, loyal and beautiful. And most importantly they live in the moment.
